The boys are lucky enough to have two living great grandmothers. But there was one they had never met. When Muzzy moved to the West Coast, we knew a road trip to the Northwest was in order.
We made a quick stop in Seattle to see Grandma Linda and Grandpa Jim and the foggy skyline.
We saw their new house. Grandma pulled out markers and stickers and asked everyone to sign it before demolition began.
Then we said goodbye to Seattle family and headed up to the Islands.
After 922 miles of Beethovan’s Wig, Lego movie and rediscovering old toys – we made it!
And it rained! The boys were thrilled.
More ferry trips to go see Muzzy.
Muzzy was being a good sport while Fin took 1,278,944 pictures.
And then double that amount of her feet.
We were lucky cousin Tyler survived his road trip and brought his parents.
And we enjoyed Island life to the fullest! The boys had their first taste of homemade ice cream.
We hiked to the neighbor’s tree house.
Shared snacks with their favorite cousin.
Went to the beach to try fishing. Caught some seaweed.
And ate apples from Grandma Shellie’s apple trees.
And this is what happens nowadays when I ask to take a nice picture of the boys without some form of bribery. Winner.
But of all these wonderful memories this is my favorite – smiles times three.
We’ve been waiting a long time for this day and can’t wait to see her again.
